A garden in the Luberon

A château set in its grounds with a French-style boxwood flowerbed surrounding an ancient fountain ...but the garden wasn't in keeping with the grandeur of the château and the beauty of the surrounding area - even its stunning view over the village of Lacoste was obscured by high hedges that needed to be restructured.

The next step was to create perspective by planting a blue-themed garden surrounded by myrtle trees, a pergola opening onto a flowerbed, a collection of irises marking out a trail, and the "Magic Path" leading to the new vegetable garden.

By using this range of pivotal elements, Dominique Lafourcade sought to enhance the sheer pleasure of strolling through the garden and discovering these new places: the tennis court, swimming pool, kitchen garden, henhouse, each one subtly linked to the next.
